ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Eligibility for admission to the various courses, intake, reservations, and admission process/procedures to the courses offered by AKTU is as per decided by the CAB/AKTU. They are contained in the Information Brochure hosted on the website of AKTU, i.e. on aktu.ac.in Candidates are advised to read them carefully and ensure that they are eligible to apply for any specific course before applying.

Brief details are given below:

Eligibility for Admission

This Entrance Examination is open to the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from any institution located in U.P. or whose parents are domicile of U.P subject to the eligibility conditions given in this Information Brochure. If the candidate has passed the qualifying examination from outside U.P., he/she has to produce a domicile certificate of his/her parents (Father OR Mother only) at the time of verification process of the document.

This Entrance Examination is also open to the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from any institution located outside U.P. and whose parents (both Father and Mother) are not domicile of U.P. subject to the eligibility conditions given in this Information Brochure.

There is no age limit for admission to the courses covered in UPCET- 2022

Candidates who are due to appear for the qualifying examination or have already appeared, but results are awaited, are also eligible to appear in the UPCET-2022. However, the candidates in respect of whom, the result of the qualifying examination has not been declared till the date of the document verification, due to any reason whatsoever, shall not be eligible for admission under any circumstances.

The candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria as given in the following clauses to appear in UPCET-2022.

Eligibility to appear in UPCET-2022 for admission to first year of B. Des. / B. Pharm. / BHMCT / BFAD / BFA / B. Voc / MCA (Integrated)/MBA (Integrated).

The subject combination required in the qualifying examination (Intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent) for admission to first year of different courses shall be as follows:

Course Eligibility Subjects
B.Tech Candidate must have passed 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University and securing minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST Category candidates) without grace in required each compulsory subjects and one optional subject was taken together.

Compulsory Subjects

 Anyone of the following Subjects
Physics & Mathematics Chemistry/ Bio- Technology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject
B. Tech Biotechnology (i) Physics & (ii) Mathematics OR Biology Chemistry/ Bio- Technology / Technical Vocational subject

Lateral Entry
B. Tech Candidates who have passed three years Engg. Diploma from an Institution located in U.P. with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) or Candidates who have passed three years B.Sc. degree and passed XII standard with mathematics as one of the subjects from any recognized University; securing minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate, are also eligible for admission to second year in any branch of Engineering/ Technology.

ELIGIBILITY

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION THROUGH UPCET COUNSELLING
  • For admission to the first year of B. Tech: the candidate must have passed the intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination from any recognized board/university; Securing (i) minimum 45% (40% for SC/ST) marks in total of required subject combination (two compulsory & one optional subject).
  • For admission to first year of B. Pharm: Candidate must have passed (with/without grace) intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics/ Biology subject.
  • For admission to the first year of MCA: the candidate must have passed three years degree course from any recognized University; securing a minimum 45% (40% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate. The candidate must have a minimum 40% (35% for SC / ST) marks in mathematics at 10 + 2 level or bachelor’s degree level.
  • For admission to the first year of MBA: the candidate must have passed three years of degree course from any recognized University; securing a minimum 45% (40% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate.
  • For admission to second year (lateral entry) of B. Tech: the candidate must have passed three years of Diploma in Engineering course securing a minimum 60% marks in aggregate and minimum 40% (35% for SC / ST) marks in mathematics.
  • For admission to second year (lateral entry) of B. Pharm: the candidate must have passed three years of Diploma in Pharmacy securing a minimum 60% marks in aggregate.
  • The admission of NRI and Kashmiri migrants will be according to the norms laid down by the Govt of UP/AICTE
  • This admission test is open only for candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from any institution located in U.P and the parents, father/mother of the students must be domiciles of U.P.

Eligibility for Direct Admission

NRI/MANAGEMENT QUOTA

Fifteen per cent (15%) of the approved intake of a course is filled under this category as per the Govt. of U.P. and AKTU guidelines. There is usually a great rush for management quota seats. The students need to register themselves early to establish priority.

  • For admission to B. Tech courses, the candidate must have passed the intermediate examination or equivalent (10+2) with required subject combination (two compulsories and one optional subject) from any recognized board/university and the admission criteria is defined by the college admission policy.
  • For admission to the first year of MCA (2 years), a candidate must have passed a bachelor’s degree course of three years minimum duration from any recognized Indian university or its equivalent. Candidate must have passed Mathematics at 10+2 level or graduation level and the admission criteria are defined by the college admission policy.
  • For admission to MBA course, the minimum qualification required is three years of bachelor’s degree in any discipline and the admission criteria are defined by college admission policy.
  • For admission to PGDM course, the minimum qualification required is three years of bachelor’s degree in any discipline and the admission criteria are defined by college admission policy.
  • For admission to M. Tech course, the minimum qualification required is a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. MCA is also eligible for the admission to M. Tech (Computer Science & Engineering) and the admission criteria are defined by the college admission policy.
  • For admission to second year of MCA course (lateral entry), a candidate must have passed a bachelor’s degree course of a minimum three years duration in BCA, B.Sc. (IT/Computer Science) from any recognized Indian university. The candidate must have passed Mathematics at 10+2 level or graduation level and the admission criteria are defined by college admission policy.

B.Tech. Working Professionals (Admission in second year as Lateral Entry)

Eligibility for admission
  • Professionals working in Registered Industry / Organization (Central / State) / Private/ Public Limited Company/ MSMEs located within 50 KM radial distance from the Institute.
  • Minimum of ONE Year Full time / Regular working Experience
  • Qualification Same as candidates eligible for Lateral Entry to Second Year {Three years Diploma Course: The candidate must have passed three years of Diploma in Engineering course securing a minimum 45% (40% for SC/ST) marks}.
  • The distance criteria for the eligibility of a working professionals is 75 KM either from place of residence/working place to the enrolled institutions.
