Welcome to the department of Mechanical Engineering:
Dear Friends, Mechanical Engineers need to play a vital role in development, operation and manufacturing of new machines, devices and processes to benefit mankind. They need to apply their creative imagination and professional skills in a variety of situations. So, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NIET, Greater Noida imparts technical knowhow to students, promote their problem solving skills and involve them in innovation of new technologies.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at NIET is continuously striving to achieve excellence in education, academic and industry oriented research as well as in consultancy work. The department is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), MHRD, Government of India, New Delhi. Several faculty members serve on the editorial boards of national and international journals, review technical articles for journals on a regular basis, and organize skill development programmes, seminars and conferences. Our department maintains active research groups for carrying out collaborative and interdisciplinary research. The faculty members have been engaged in research in all the classical areas of Mechanical Engineering and upcoming area too. To meet the research requirements a new laboratory for parallel Computation facility is funded by AICTE.
We aim to provide our students a perfect blend of intellectual and practical experiences that help them to serve the society and address a variety of needs. State of art laboratories like modern optimization, Design and Graphics Involved Research Lab and Computer Integrated manufacturing Lab have been established in the development which consist of CNC Lathe, CNC Milling, CNC Drilling, Workstations, and the different softwares like: Autocad, Autodesk Inventor, Nastran-NX, Ideas, Solidworks, Abacus etc. The Department maintains the following laboratories for instruction and research:

A 3D printing Lab is being developed for concept design and product realization. This lab will facilitate students to evolve concepts and convert it into a complete product. The process of design, simulation and prototyping will take place in a digitally integrated environment. The facility has been designed and structured to take care of professional certification programs for students, consultancy for industries and to also carry out globally outstanding research.

Head of the Department Mechanical Engineering
Prof P.Pachauri, is working as Professor and Head in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology, Greater Noida. He has a rich teaching experience of 16 years. He completed his UG and PG in Mechanical Engg from AMU, Aligarh and has submitted the doctoral thesis in 2014 at the same university. He had taught a wide spectrum of courses in Mechanical Engg at UG and PG level. He has guided 30 UG and 05 PG projects. He has also been mentor for three innovative projects. Prof Pachauri’s active participation in teaching endowed him with a profound sense for authoring 05 bestselling books on Mechanical Engineering and 10 research papers in national and international journals.
Prof. Pachauri also bears the responsibility of Director (Projects & Planning) of the Institute. He is constructively active in strategic planning for a promising and prosperous future of NIET, Greater Noida. He joined the Institute in 2004. Before joining NIET, Greater Noida, he worked at Meerut Institute of Engineering & Technology, Meerut for five years.
Prof. Pachauri has great experience of organizing 08 International/National conferences/ National Seminars. The department is organizing technical events regularly under his leadership. His sincere hard work has been acknowledged by Government of India by sanctioning him two research grants:
- Received a Grant of Rs 10.00 Lacs from AICTE under IIPC scheme as Chief Coordinator (Ref No. RIFD/IIPC (54)/2010-11 Dated: March 31, 2011.
- Received a Grant of Rs 2.50 Lacs from AICTE under EDC scheme as Chief Coordinator (Ref No. RIFD/EDC (66)/2010-11 Dated: March 31, 2011.
Prof. Pachauri is life member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), life member of Powder Metallurgy Association of India (PMAI) and faculty mentor for Society for Automotive Engineers India (SAE).
